Although his was considered to be a major step for science, the main thing that came out of this for the people was dispute. Some argued that genetic information should not affect their place in society, or that genetic information should be prvate and not in the hands of someone else. Others sided with scientists in saying that this could lead to many breakthroughs and cures in medical science.
